Juanita Maurine Leitch, 84, of Albion, died at 12:20 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Nikki & Terry Marker, Silver Lake.
She was born February 11, 1925, in Tallahassee, Florida, a daughter of Guy Neil and Juanita Marie (DeMoss) Willits. As a young girl, her family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She graduated from Tulsa High School and later received an Associate’s Degree in business.
On February 19, 1944, she was united in marriage to Paul M. Leitch. They made their home in Churubusco until 1961 when they moved to Albion. Mr. Leitch died February 13, 2009.
Surviving relatives include three children, Nikki M. (Terry) Marker of Silver Lake, Douglas M. (Jinna) Leitch of Albion and Kim (Jeff) Hoover of Ligonier; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, G. Neil Willits of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and special friends, Joe and Deb Halsey of Albion.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2009 at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
