Mildred June Roberts, 80, of Columbia City, died Sunday afternoon, June 28, 2009 at Renaissance Village where she had been a resident since October 10, 2008.

She was born July 8, 1928, in Salamonia, Jay County, Indiana, a daughter of Dr. A. Ray and Freda I. (Ballinger) Noland.

On December 31, 1954, she married Richard Keith “Dick” Roberts. They made their home in Shipshewana, Ligonier and Churubusco before moving to Columbia City in August 1970. Mr. Roberts died July 19, 2008.

Surviving relatives include three daughters, Linda Casey of Indianapolis, Roberta Connett of Columbia City and Dawn Kempe of Indianapolis; three granddaughters, Destiny, Marina and Rebecca; several great grandchildren; and two brothers, A. Wayne Noland of Lagrange and Thurl B. Noland of Sturgis, Michigan.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Ivan; and a sister, Irene.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
