Ruth F. Geiger, 86

Ruth F. Geiger, 86, slipped peacefully away in death on Thursday, October 29, 2009.
She was born April 4, 1923, in Kentucky a daughter of Bazil and Venia (Bowles) Jackson. As a young girl, her family moved to Indiana. She attended elementary school in Crawfordsville, later moving to Larwill. She graduated from Sidney High School.
On April 9, 1942, she married Ervin D. Geiger. They spent most of their married life together at Big Lake.
She was an attentive, loving wife, mother and friend, and a faithful witness of Jehovah for over 54 years. Although she will be greatly missed, we look forward to welcoming her back to a Paradise Earth "in the resurrection on the last day."(John 6:40).
Surviving relatives include her husband, Ervin; six children, Sandra (Dennis) Gose of Fort Wayne, Judy of Florida, Ervin (Jerilyn) Geiger Jr. of Columbia City, Mary (David) Smith of Grabill, Tammy (James) Wilson of Fort Wayne and Samuel Geiger of Fort Wayne; 19 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; 2 brothers, Robert L. Jackson of Big Lake and Delmar Jackson of South Whitley; and two sisters, Marilyn Walker of Columbia City and Darlene Daugherty of Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Adrian; two brothers, Oakley “Jack” Jackson and James Jackson; and two sisters, Helen Delores Jackson and Virginia Bumgardner.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
