Billy Joe Myers, 77
Billy Joe Myers, 77, of Ormas, died at 9:20 a.m. Monday December 28, 2009 at Parkview Main Hospital, Fort Wayne. 
He was born January 1, 1932 in Laketon, Indiana a son of Mont and Lela Fern (Bush) Myers. His formative years were spent in South Whitley. He attended South Whitley High School.
On January 11, 1949 he entered the U.S. Army. He served with the 27th Infantry in Korea. He received his honorable discharge June 23, 1952.
Returning to the area, he worked with his father and brother at Myers Sawmill, Wolf Lake. He worked at Rae Magnet Wire for 17 years and was a long haul trucker for twenty years.
His memberships included VFW Post 4717, Wolf Lake, American Legion Post 98, Columbia City and former member of Noble Twp. Fire Department.
Surviving relatives include two children, Anthony Myers and LeahBeth Myers both of Wolf Lake; three grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; his former wife and friend, Patricia Myers, Wolf Lake; two brothers, Robert (Delores) Myers, Pelsor, AR and James (Verlindia) Myers, Urbana and one sister, Shirley (Jack) Burson, Mesa, AZ
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Bonnie Gage, Eileen Wynns and Betty Myers and two brothers, Jack and Larry Myers.
The visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
