John Joseph Lesniewski, 47, of Lafayette and formerly of Columbia City, passed away at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009 in Columbia City. 

Born on March 12, 196,2 in Hammond, he was the son of Casimir and Lucille (Kosiba) Lesniewski.

He lived most of his life in Indiana including Hammond, Valparaiso, Columbia City for 2 years prior to moving to Omaha, Nebraska.

He graduated from George Rogers Clark High School, Hammond, with the Class of 1981 and Devery Institution of Technology with the Class of 1984. 

He worked from 1984-1986 at Rockwell International/Wescom, Lemont, Illinois, as an electronic bench technician, 1986-1988 at Grumman System Support Corporation, Schaumburg, Illinois, as a computer bench field technician, 1988-1991 at US Computers/Cabledata-Rancho Cordova, California, as a remote computer field engineer, 1992-1994 at Atech Computer Service Inc., East Dundee, Illinois, as a computer field service engineer/high speed printer expert, 1994-1996 at Geminus Corporation, Crown Point, IN as a computer systems specialist and A Data Cableman, Inc., Valparaiso as owner/consultant/field engineer, 1996-1997 at USX/ U.S. Steel Garyworks, Gary as Department Manager Helpdesk for Desktop/Application/Network Connectivity, 1997-1999 at Ancilla Systems Incorporated, Hobart as PC specialist/application Helpdesk/Assistant Network Administrator, 1999-2005 at Fuchs Lubricants Company, Chicago, IL as PC/LAN Administrator, Helpdest, Trainer, March 2005 to August 2005, IPR/Corsentry, Bellevue, NE as Helpdesk Application Support, June 2005 to November 2005, Robert Half, Omaha, NE as Administrator & Desktop Support-Consultant Local Manufacture, January 2006-June 2006, Client Resources Incorporate, Omaha, NE as Helpdesk/Tech Support-Consultant-Insurance Company, June 2006-November 2006, Medplane Partners, Rockford, IL as LAN Administrator-Third Party Medical Billing and November 2006 to present freelance consultant in Columbia City.

He loved his children, to drum, electronics, computers, wood working, Beatles music, loved the outdoors and to BBQ, pursuit of creating the perfect pizza, loved Native American culture and music in general. 

Survivors include his daughter, Brittany Elizabeth (Rob) Troup of West Lafayette; 2 sons, John Vincent Casimir Lesniewski and Logan Anthony Lesniewski both of Valparaiso; 4 sisters, Christine (Thomas) Robinson of Bellvue, Nebraska, Catherine Ann Lesniewski of Honolulu, Hawaii, Anna Marie (Brian) Flott of Yelma, Washington, and Jenniffer Jeneen (Gary) Pierce of Valparaiso; 16 nieces and nephews; 1 grand niece; 1 grand nephew; brother-in-law, Robert Joseph Hiss of Columbia City; close friends, Erika (Jeff) Persons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Hiss. 

Services were Monday, November 30, 2009 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, IN.
