Eva Mae Geiger, 86
Eva Mae Geiger, 86, of Columbia City, died at 10 a.m. Sunday, February 14, 2010 at The Oaks Living Center where she had been a resident since February 22, 2002. 
She was born June 13, 1923 in Whitley County, Indiana a daughter of Taylor and Wilda (Clay) Zumbrun. Her formative years were spent in Noble County. She graduated from Wolf Lake High School.
On June 15, 1944 she was united in marriage to Walter Wayne Geiger. They made their home on a farm in Thorncreek Township, Whitley County. Mr. Geiger died May 12, 2007.
She drove bus for Thorncreek School and retired in 1985 from reading meters for REMC.
Her memberships included Blue River Church of the Brethren.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Edward E. (Karen) Geiger and Clay W. (Sandy) Geiger, both of Columbia City; six grandchildren, Michael (Shane) Geiger, David Geiger, Ryan (Darcy) Geiger, Todd (Stacy) Geiger, Adam Geiger and Jody (Chris) Askins; and 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Zumbrun and Harold “Spike” Zumbrun.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
