Eugene F. “Gene” Lamboley, 72
Eugene F. “Gene” Lamboley, 72, of Jefferson Township, Whitley County, died at 6:40 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. 
He was born July 14, 1937 in Fort Wayne a son of George A. and Vera A. (Beckbarger) Lamboley. He completed his education at Elmhurst High School.
On April 19, 1958 he was united in marriage to Shirley A. Pequignot. They have always made their home in Jefferson Township.
He served in the United States Army from October 1960 until his honorable discharge on September 30, 1966.
He was employed 10 years at Fort Wayne Country Club, 10 years at Columbia Liquors, was co-owner of Mansdorfer Bros. Marathon from 1967 until 1989 and retired from Fort Wayne Country Club in June 2005 as groundskeeper with an additional 17 years of service.
His memberships included St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Roanoke American Legion, Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Dept. for 43 years and former leader of Boy Scout Troop #83.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Shirley; son, Douglas E. (Lori) Lamboley of South Whitley; daughter, Shelli A. (Tracey) Smith of Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren, Meghan Smith, Garrett Lamboley and Drew Robinson.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bethany Lamboley; and two half sisters, Marjorie Bugert and Virginia Geise.
The funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Arcola. Entombment will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with a Rosary Service beginning at 7 p.m. Monday.
Preferred memorials to Jefferson Township Fire Dept. or masses to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
