Joyce Ann Thomas, 65
Joyce Ann Thomas, 65, of South Whitley, died unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, May 22, 2010 of natural causes. 
She was born February 20, 1945 in Fort Wayne, Indiana a daughter of Dale J. and Shirley M. (Waters) Reiff. Her formative years were spent in Whitley County. She graduated from South Whitley High School in 1963.
She was employed 32 years at Invensys (Controls) in North Manchester in the shipping/receiving department. She also owned & operated Joyce’s Carwash in North Manchester. In recent years, she and her husband ran J.T. Transportation Service.
On April 30, 2006 she married John Thomas in Hawaii, where they spent their honeymoon before returning to their home in South Whitley which they restored and remodeled. They attended the same church as children and grew up one mile apart.
She was a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren. Her hobbies were taking pictures over the years of which she made over 50 beautiful scrapbooks. Joyce was instrumental in keeping her high school classmates as close group and coordinated activities with her co-workers.
Surviving relatives include her husband, John; a daughter, Denise (Nelson) Constantine of Lawrenceburg GA; a granddaughter; a great grandson; her mother, Shirley Reiff of Columbia City; a brother, Steve (Doris) Reiff of South Whitley; a step son and two step daughters.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. The burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Pleasant View Church of the Brethren.
