Marie A. Lewis, 81
Marie A. Lewis, 81, of South Whitley, died early Thursday morning, May 13, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital, Fort Wayne where she was admitted April 20th. She was admitted March 22nd at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Born August 31, 1928 in Kirklin, Indiana, her formative years were spent in Clinton County. She graduated from Rossville High School.
She drove truck, worked at Grunwell’s Bakery and retired in 1997 from Gripco with 33 years of service.
Surviving relatives include four children, Sandra (Larry) Ruse of South Whitley, Sally (Delmar) Prater of Sidney, Peggy (Mike) Henry of Fort Wayne and Jeffrey (Jessica) Lewis of South Whitley; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Lizzie (Reavis) Metzger; three sisters, Gladys, Wilma and Pearl; and a brother, Jessie Metzger.
The funeral service was held Monday, May 17, at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. The burial was in South Whitley Cemetery.
