Mary Alice Lincoln, 82
Mary Alice Lincoln, 82, of Columbia City, died at 5:05 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Parkview Whitley Hospital where she was admitted on Sunday.
She was born May 18, 1928, in Allen County, Indiana, a daughter of Jesse and Rose (Witte) Simon. At the age of six, her family moved to Whitley County. She graduated from Columbia City High School.
On July 24, 1948, she was united in marriage to Gerry L. Lincoln. They made their first home north of Columbia City. From 1950 until 1957, they resided in Fort Wayne before moving to Roanoke. In November 2004, they moved to Columbia City. Mr. Lincoln died March 16, 2006.
She was employed at General Electric for 34 years.
Her memberships included American Legion Post #160 Auxiliary and V.F.W. Post #3846 Auxiliary.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Steve E. (Sue) Lincoln of LaOtto and Dennis E. Lincoln of Columbia City; a daughter, Cathy (Tom) Harris of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Jene (Jean) Simon of Columbia City; and a brother-in-law, Jim Lambert of Columbia City.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Simon; and three sisters, Doris Simon, Rea Lambert and Lauretta Mowan.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
An auxiliary service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
