Ethel Mae Ewing, 96
Ethel Mae Ewing, 96, of Noble County, died at 11:50 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Northridge Village, Albion where she had been a resident since March 2010.
She was born October 5, 1914 in Sandusky, Ohio, a daughter of Franklin C. and Bertha (Corl) Ellis. Her formative years were spent Ohio.
On July 21, 1951 she was united in marriage to Ernest Leland Ewing. They made their home in Fort Wayne for two years before moving to their home at Bear Lake. Mr. Ewing died December 7, 1992.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mary A. (Ken) Clark of Hudson and Yvonne K. (Bill) Baker of Cromwell; six grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Ewing; a daughter, Beverly Newville; three brothers, Walter Ellis, Homer Ellis and Dale “Frenchy” Ellis; and a sister Marguerite L. Gray Norman.
The funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. The visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon Monday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
