Martin H. Trier, 85
Martin H. Trier, 85, a resident of Columbia City, died at 12:30 pm Monday, November 15, 2010 at Miller’s Merry Manor. 
He was born July 15, 1925 in Washington Twp, Whitley County, Indiana a son of Martin E. and Lulu (Kunberger) Trier. His formative years were spent in Washington Twp. He graduated from Washington Center High School.
On July 14, 1962, he was united in marriage to Naomi Edith Mitchell. They made their home in Columbia City. Mrs. Trier died December 3, 2000.
In 1950, he was employed by International Harvester, Fort Wayne, where he worked for 32 years. In 1987, he went to work for Pinkerton / ISI Security, Fort Wayne until his retirement in 1997.
He is survived by five children, Linda (Robert) LeFever, Churubusco, Steven (Lora) Trier of Arizona, Rebecca (Monty) Wolfe of Florida, Terry Trier of Michigan and Mark Trier of Florida; two step-daughters, Lana (John) Pratt, Warsaw and Leatha Brown, Warsaw; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and a brother, Walter Trier, South Whitley.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Eleanora Auer, Ruth Bay, Martha Luecke, Neola Trump, Marie Bridge and a brother Ordine Trier, and a Stepson, Larry Line.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. with Dr. Lane Burgland officiating. The burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Worship for Shut-Ins or donor’s choice.
