Patricia A. VanNess, 70
Patricia A. VanNess, 70, of Huntington County, died at 9:19 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2010 at her home.
She was born June 12, 1940 in Whitley County, Indiana a daughter of Howard and Elloise (Glick) Genth. Her formative years were spent in the Laud area. She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1958.
On March 16, 1973 she was united in marriage to Wayne L. Van Ness. They moved to their present home a short time after marriage.
She retired from Ford Meter Box Company in 2005 with more than 25 years of service.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Wayne; a daughter, Diane Keel of Silver Lake; a step son, Jeffrey VanNess of Lagro; two grandchildren, Amber Keel and Kevin Keel; a great granddaughter, Taylor Keel; a brother, Darwin (Barbara) Genth of Columbia City; and a sister, Arnola Emerick of Ossian.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Arnold “Bud” Genth.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. The burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials may be made to Wabash/Miami County Hospice or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
