Mary Jane McLaughlin, 94
Mary Jane McLaughlin, 94, formerly of Union Township, died Friday, March 25, 2011 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
She was born September 7, 1916 in Fayette Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan a daughter of James Harvey and Mayme (Bird) Price. Her formative years were spent in the Jonesville area. She graduated from Jonesville High School.
On December 9, 1936 she was united in marriage to Robert Foster McLaughlin. They made their home in Antwerp, Ohio until the early 1940s when they moved to Fort Wayne. In 1951 they moved to Union Township, Whitley County. In 1994 they began wintering in Mesa, Arizona until May 2008 when they moved to Friendship Village in Kalamazoo, their year round home.
A homemaker, during World War II she worked at Aircraft Gear.
Her memberships included Jefferson Chapel United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star in Fort Wayne and Rebekah Lodge in Laud.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Bob; two daughters, Rebecca S. (Dennis) Pence of Kalamazoo MI and Cynthia A. (James) Miller of Scottsdale AZ; four grandchildren, Adam Pence, Lauren Miller, Jordan Miller Logan and Lindsay Miller Fox; five siblings, Lucille Snyder of Quincy MI, Sally Leslie of Hicksville OH, Gerry Bowditch of Jackson MI, Frank Price of Fremont MI and Elinor Spurloch of Quincy MI.
She was preceded in death by 14 siblings.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The burial will be in Jefferson Chapel Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Alzheimer's Association.
