Joycelin A. Cramer, 79

Joycelin A. Cramer, 79, of Columbia City, Ind. passed away at 4:24 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 at her residence. 
Born on December 6, 1931 in Mentone, Ind., she was the daughter of Lee L. and Helen N. (Personett) Blue.
She has been a Whitley County resident since her marriage in 1951.  She graduated from Bourbon High School, Bourbon, Ind. with the Class of 1949. 
On March 9, 1951, she married Joseph R. Cramer at Columbia City.  She worked for Precession Plastics for 13 years.
Survivors include her children, Vicky L. (James) Schrader of South Whitley, Ind., Julie A. Roberts of Evansville, Ind., Michael J. (Anna) Cramer of Panama City, FL, and  Terry J. Lockard of Columbia City; sisters, Avonell Tracy of Plymouth, Ind., Sharon Fisher of Breman, Ind.; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph R. Cramer in September of 2006, son, Joseph Cramer and brothers, Myron and James Blue.
Services are private.  Burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon, Ind. Marilee J. Fleck, 88

Marilee J. Fleck, 88, of Columbia City, died at 8:57 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne where she was transported earlier in the day.
She was born March 25, 1923 in South Bend, Indiana a daughter of Charles and Frances (Smith) Austin. At the age of five, her family moved to a farm in Richland Township, Whitley County. She graduated from Larwill High School in 1941.
On July 2, 1956 she was united in marriage to Robert W. Fleck. They always made their home in Columbia City. Mr. Fleck died November 10, 1979.
She was employed at Weatherhead for 23 years, Columbia Township School for 11 years and retired from the City of Columbia City in December 1998 with more than 12 years of service.
Her memberships included Oak Grove United Methodist Church since 1943 and she was an avid I.U. fan.
Surviving relatives include two nephews and two nieces, Terry Austin of North Manchester, Jeanne (Gary Sutter) Smith of South Whitley, Bob (Jennifer) Austin of Fort Wayne and Diane (Fred) Parkinson of Warsaw; 12 great nieces and nephews; and nine great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Verda Austin.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Evelyn Irene Andorfer, 92

Evelyn Irene Andorfer, 92, of Columbia City, Ind. passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Good Friday, April 22, 2011 at her home.  
Born November 13, 1918 in Edgerton, Ind. she was a daughter of William and Minnie (Longardner) Doty.                    
She graduated from New Haven High School with the Class of 1936. She then attended Ravenscroft Beauty College.  She worked as a hairdresser until her marriage.  On March 6, 1942, she married George M. Andorfer in Fort Wayne. She was raised in Woodburn, and then lived in Fort Wayne after her marriage until 1950. She and her husband then moved to Whitley County moving to her present Columbia City residence in 1983.  A homemaker and housewife, she was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, Columbia City, where she was a former member of the Rosary Society,  Theo Club, and the Silver Striders.
Survivors include sons, Philip (Betty) Andorfer of Columbia City and Keith (Quennie) Andorfer of Fort Wayne; daughters, Cheryl Ball of Fort Wayne and Christine (Brad) Whiteleather of Columbia City, Charleen (James) McSwain of Decatur and Jacalyn (David) Lillich of Granger; brother, Wayne (Doris) Doty of Columbia City; 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Fett and a sister, Kathryn Boullion, 2 brothers Donald and Gaylord Doty, and great-grandson, Kurt Rigsby.
Visitation is Monday, April 25, 2011 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 S. Line Street, Columbia City, with calling at 10:00 a.m. Father Larry Kramer of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church will be celebrant.  Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City.  Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Andorfer to Parkview Home Health and Hospice or St. Paul of the Cross St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry Fund.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Raimund Hawn, 61

Raimund Hawn, 61, a resident of South Whitley, died at 9:13 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at his step-daughter�s home in North Manchester. He had been battling cancer for the past three years.
He was born August 5, 1949 in Frankfurt, Germany a son of the late Duane E. and Herta (Fischer) Hawn. His formative years were spent in the Larwill area. He graduated from Larwill High School in 1968.
His work career included 21 years at the former Gripco, South Whitley. Following the closing of the South Whitley plant, he started his own cleaning service.
On April 9, 1993, he was united in marriage to Florence V. "Flip" Rappl. They made their home south of South Whitley. Mrs. Hawn died April 11, 2007.
He was a member of Sons of AmVets 2919, South Whitley, Loyal Order of Moose, North Manchester and attended Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Indiana Golf Association.
Surviving relatives include two step-sons, Michael (Voula) Minick of Orange Park, FL and Mark (Christine) Minick of California and two step daughters, Michelle (Rev. J.P.) Freeman and Mary (Jonnie Bob) Butterbaugh, both of North Manchester; 10 step-grandchildren and 10 great step-grandchildren and 3 great great step-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley with Rev. J.P. Freeman officiating. The burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery. The visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Whitley County Humane Shelter.

Mary Catherine Skinner, 86

Mary Catherine Skinner, 86, of Albion, IN passed away at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2011 at North Ridge Village Nursing Home, Albion.  
Born November 6, 1924 in Columbia City, IN she was the daughter of Robert Franklin and Tacy Bernice (Hill) Baker.
A resident of Whitley and Noble counties, she graduated from Wolf Lake High School.  
On June 29, 1947 she was united in marriage to Bernard G. Skinner by Reverend Marion Shroyer in Columbia City.  A homemaker, she also worked at Blue Bell for a short period of time. She was a member of the Ormas Baptist Church where she served as a Bible school teacher, attended the ladies missionary circle and sang as a choir member.
Survivors include her daughter, Barb E. "Bobbi" (Les) Keener and son, Ronnie (Terri) Skinner both of Albion; 6 grandchildren including Ty (Trinna) Keener, Chad (Jodi) Keener, Mindy (Mike) Barnhart all of Churubusco, Holly (Heath) Bingham, Abby (Zachary) Mitchell and Tyler Skinner all of Albion and 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty Gaylord, Cromwell and Ellen (Robert) Kellogg, Greensboro, NC; 1 sister in law, Joann Baker, Columbia City.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Genna Skinner, brothers, Gene and Paul "Bud" Baker, sister, Lois Johnson and grandson, Shane Keener.

Gregory Mapps, 58

Gregory Mapps, 58, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, April 15, 2011 at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City.
Born in Fort Wayne, Gregory worked as a national chain manager with Gordon Food Services for 22 years. He was an executive board member for The Lighthouse homeless shelter in Columbia City.
Greg enjoyed spending time with family and friends on the lake and out on his boat. He loved to water ski, golf, and perform his own lawn maintenance. He participated in the Fire and Ice Carving Festival in Columbia City where they carve ice sculptures.
Surviving are his loving wife of 26 years, Robin L. Mapps of Columbia City, mother, Patsy Parr, brother, Jeff Mapps of MN, half sister, Margo (Mark) Adams of St. Louis, MO, and many nieces and nephews. Nellene K. Miller, 60

Nellene K. Miller, 60, of rural Churubusco, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne where she was admitted on Monday, April 11th.
She was born December 21, 1950 in Wolf Lake, Indiana a daughter of Byron H. and Laura M. (Gump) Miller. Her formative years were spent in Etna Township, Whitley County. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School.
She was employed at Viking in Columbia City and B.R.C. in Churubusco.
As a young girl, she attended West Etna Community Church.
Surviving relatives include a sister, Barbara Jones of Fort Wayne; two nephews and a niece; and two great nephews and four great nieces.
Her parents and companion, Nelson Arnold, preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in West Etna Community Cemetery. The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Danny Lee Bolinger, 56, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.  
Born December 11, 1954 in Huntington, IN he was the son of Bill D. and Marylyn J. (Geiger) Bolinger.
A lifetime Columbia City resident, he graduated with the Class of 1973 from Columbia City Joint High School.  On May 21, 1977 he married Michelle Trimmer at First Church of God, Columbia City.  For 28 years, he worked as a welder for Dana Corporation, Syracuse.    
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Michelle Bolinger of Columbia City; daughters, Brandi (Sergio) Saldivar of Fort Wayne and Amber (Russell) Simons of Churubusco; son, Jeremy (Heather) Bolinger of Churubusco; sisters and brother, Jan Smith of Huntington, Lori (Randy) DeBaillie of Pierceton, Toni (Benji) Fugate of Columbia City, Lois (Russ) Gagnon of North Manchester, Lonnie (Brenda) Bolinger of Syracuse and Stacy (Scott) Gagnon of Columbia City; one grandson, Jackson Bolinger of Churubusco.  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Debbie Bolinger and step-brother, Gary Bolinger.

Bradley E. Scott, 55, formerly of Wolf Lake, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at IU Health Arnett, Lafayette, IN. He was living at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville, IN.
He was born January 15, 1956 in Noble County, Indiana a son of the late John H. and Evelyn L. (Oliver) Scott. His formative years were spent in the Wolf Lake area. He graduated from Central Noble High School.

Frederick G.C. Gaff,  64, of Churubusco, IN passed away at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at his residence.  
Born October 31, 1946 in Wolf Lake, IN he was the son of Paul Joseph and Joyce N. (Newman) Gaff.
A Churubusco High School graduate, he resided in Churubusco the majority of his lifetime. On March 25, 1972 he married Joan Marie Anspach in Fort Wayne.  For 27 years he worked as a truck driver for Essex Wire and Cable retiring in 1999.  After retirement, he worked for Super Value for two years.  His memberships included Eagles Lodge#1906 and Teamsters Local #414.  He was a former member of the Moose Lodge.    
Survivors include his daughter, Amy (Jim) Bohnstedt of Columbia City; mother, Joyce Gaff of Columbia City; grandsons, Colton and Caden Bohnstedt of Columbia City; brothers, Jay L. Gaff of Winterhaven, FL, Herbert N. (Sandra) Gaff of Churubusco and Charles Gaff of Fort Wayne; sister, Bonnie Ohnesorge of Fort Wayne.  He was preceded in death by his father, Paul J. Gaff, wife, Joan Marie Gaff on September 1, 2009, brother, Paul J. Gaff, Jr. and step-father, Jay Gaff.

Julia Mabel Snodgrass, 98

Julia Mabel Snodgrass, 98, of Columbia City, died at 11:05 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2011 at Miller's Merry Manor where she had been a resident since March 18th.
She was born February 11, 1913 in Columbia City, Indiana a daughter of Melvin and Alice (Lower) Schumaker. She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1930 and graduated from Indiana University in 1934.
She taught school at Beech Grove for six years. In 1954 she started teaching Latin and English at Columbia City High School, retiring in 1974 with 20 years of service.
Her memberships include Grace Lutheran Church, Tri Kappa, Parliamentary Club, Indiana and Whitley County Retired Teachers Associations, Col. Augustin de la Balme Chapter of the Daughter of the American Revolution and a life member of the Whitley County Historical Society.
Surviving relatives include two children, Rebecca Snodgrass and William H. Snodgrass, both of Columbia City; a niece and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister, John Schumaker and Mary Alice Johnston.
The funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The burial will take place at Greenhill Cemetery.

Gregory W. Suelzer, 54, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday evening, April 10, 2011 in the emergency room of St. Joe Hospital. He had been in failing health.
He was born April 25, 1956 in Quebec, Canada. A son of William F. and Esther J. (Walda) Suelzer, his formative years were spent in Fort Wayne. He graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School.
He was employed over 15 years at Doswell Kover Vault Company.
Surviving relatives include his sister, Julianne (Charles) Strack of Columbia City; a niece and a nephew, Jacqueline Butcher and Adam Strack.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Arcola with visitation one hour prior. The burial will be in Jackson Prairie Cemetery, Orland.

Sylvia Sue Solt, 73

Sylvia Sue Solt, 73, of Lakeland, FL passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, FL.
Born on April 14, 1938 in Angola, Ind. she was the daughter of Lawrence Larry and Avis (Hall) Murbach.
She attended Fort Wayne Central High School, graduating with the Class of 1956. She went on to graduate from Lutheran College of Nursing where she received her RN Degree. Attended University of Chicago receiving a surgical technology degree. She also attended St. Francis College, Joliet, Ill. receiving a BA degree. On November 22, 1962, she married Rollyn LeRoy Solt in Fort Wayne. She worked surgical rotations at Parkview Hospital for 14 years. She then served as an RN with Lincoln Life Ins. Co., Fort Wayne for 25 years. In 1976 she and her husband began Solt Enterprises, Inc. selling business forms, computer accessories and data processing supplies. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne and I.A.O.H.N.- Ind. Assoc. of Occupational Health Nurses.
Survivors include her husband, Rollyn LeRoy Solt of Lakeland, FL; mother, Avis Murbach of Norwood, Mass.; daughters, LuAnn Solt of Fort Wayne, JoLyn (Dan) Hensley of Franklin, Ind.; grandchildren, Dakota Schwartz, and Alisha, Daniel, Boone, and Catrina Hensley; sisters, Carolyn Roach of Fort Wayne and Linda Murbach of Norwood, Mass. She was preceded in death by her father, and brother, George Murbach.
At Mrs. Slot’s request there will be no visitation or services. Burial will be private at a later date. Martha E. Kessler, 77, of Churubusco, Ind., died at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Heritage Park Nursing Home, Fort Wayne, Ind.  
Born on May 19, 1933 in Noble County, Ind., she was the daughter of Ernest and Evelyn (Stewart) Graves.
She attended school in Wolf Lake, Ind.  On July 4, 1953 she married Robert Lee Kessler in Churubusco.  She was a homemaker and mother, raising their two daughters.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Iholts of Columbia City, Ind. and Pamela Born of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 3 grandchildren, Henry and Shawn Born of Fort Wayne and Josh (Jennifer) Born of Columbia City; and a brother, Junior (Geraldine) Graves of South Whitley, Ind.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Kessler in August of 2002; brother, Earl Graves; and an infant twin sister, Mary Lou Graves.

Ruby L. Peoples, 89, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at Bethlehem Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fort Wayne.
She was born October 15, 1921 in Cleveland Township, Whitley County, Indiana a daughter of the late Rollo and Dessie (Tyner) Steele. Her formative years were spent in Tunker. She graduated from South Whitley High School and then graduated from International Business College in Fort Wayne.
After working various office positions in Fort Wayne, she took an office position with the Pennsylvania Railroad, Fort Wayne where she worked for over 25 years.
In 1954, she was united in marriage to Wayne Peoples. They made their home in Fort Wayne. Mr. Peoples died October 16, 1997. They had no children.
Her memberships included Elmhurst Church of the Nazarene and the Pythian Sisters.
Surviving relatives include 11 nieces and nephews, Marilyn (Donald) Bischoff, St Joseph, MI, Janet (John) Cutshall, Avilla, Arden (Helen) Steele, Bolivia, Roger (Ginny) Steele, Ithaca, NY, Marcia (Daryl) Hendsbee, Grabill, Paul (Becky) Steele, North Manchester, Charles (Patricia) Kinzie, Florida, Anna June Trisler, Florida, Gary (Mireya) Steele, Mexico, Rebecca (Steve) Franks, Ashley and Keith (Sharon) Peoples, Columbia City.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Eugene, John and Carl Steele and one sister, Lucille Kinzie.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Eugene, John and Carl Steele and one sister, Lucille Kinzie.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The burial will be in the South Whitley Cemetery.

Harriet E. Veazey, 97

Harriet E. Veazey, 97, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at The Oaks where she had been a resident for the past three years. She had moved from her Churubusco home to Oak Point in 2000.
She was born on October 3, 1913 in Washington Township, Whitley County to Levi Jacob and Edith A. Morrolf Keiser. She attended the West Ward Grade School and after graduating from the Columbia City High School in 1931 was employed at the Daniel Brothers Grocery.
On November 28, 1935, she was united in marriage to William Cedric Veazey and they made their first home in Fort Wayne and then for many years in Churubusco. Mr. Veazey died in 1997.
She had been employed by the General Electric Company in Fort Wayne for nineteen years and the Bang’s Dime Store and Barnhart’s Pharmacy in Churubusco.
While her children were growing up, she was active in the P.T.A. and E.U.B. Sunday school. She is a member of the Churubusco United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star #136, Past Worthy Matron in 1959, Smith Township Extension Homemakers and the Churubusco Women’s Literary Club. For several years, she served as the Welcome Wagon Hostess in the Churubusco community. She assisted her husband in restoring old furniture and for many years made patchwork quilts and crocheted rugs.
Survived by daughters, Carolyn (Jim) Curry, Indianapolis, Linda (Adrian) Cook, Uniontown, Ohio; and a son, John (Karen) Veazey, Ridgecrest, CA; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William Lee Veazey; sisters, Mary Fleck, Thelma and Marjorie Keiser and a brother, Walter.
The visitation will be from noon to 2 pm Sunday at the Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City followed by a graveside service at 2:30 pm at the Nolt Cemetery with Chaplain Robin LaRue of the Heartland Hospice officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Churubusco United Methodist Church or the Whitley County Community Foundation.

Ted Lamar Ramsey, 74

Ted Lamar Ramsey, 74, of Columbia City, Ind., died at 4:20 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2011 at The Oaks, Columbia City.  
Born on July 29, 1936, in Kosciusko County, Indiana, he was the son of Frank and Geraldine (Jellison) Ramsey.
He graduated from South Whitley High School with the Class of 1955.  He served in the US Air Force for four years. For 30 years he worked for Safeway Grocery Stores in California before retiring.  He moved to Columbia City in 2006 to be close to family.  His memberships included Grace Brethren Church in Sydney, Ind.
Survivors include his mother, Geraldine Slater of Columbia City; brother, Ned Ramsey of Columbia City; and father, Frank Ramsey of Oklahoma.  At Mr. Ramsey's request there will be no visitation or service.  Burial will take place at a later date at South Whitley Cemetery, South Whitley, Ind.  Memorials in Mr. Ramsey's memory can be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, 6316 Mutual Drive, Fort Wayne, IN  46825.

Rosaline May DeTurk, 83

Rosaline May DeTurk, 83, a resident of Columbia City, died at 9:53 pm Saturday, April 2, in the Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born on September 21, 1927 in Kokomo, a daughter of Clarence and Amanda Christine Miller Gunter. Her formative years were spent in Kokomo, where she graduated from high school.
On June 16, 1948 she was united in marriage to Richard Walter DeTurk. They made their home in Wabash, Peru and North Manchester. Mr, DeTurk died on October 26, 2008 and she later moved to Columbia City.
Mrs. DeTurk was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Paul (Rita) DeTurk of Columbia City. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Celesta Joyce DeTurk and fifteen brothers and sisters.
In keeping with the wishes of Mrs. DeTurk there will be no visitation or service.
The arrangements are by the Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.

Floyd A.R. Bolinger, 89

Floyd A.R. Bolinger, 89, a resident of South Whitley, died at 3:20 pm Sunday, April 3, 2011 at The Oaks where he had been a resident since February.
He was born March 22, 1922 in Huntington County, Indiana a son of the late Noah E. and Iva Dove (Pence) Bolinger. As a young boy the family moved to North Manchester where his father entered the sheet metal trade. As a junior in high school, the family moved to a farm south of South Whitley. He graduated from South Whitley High School with the Class of 1940.
He began his work career in farming. On December 31, 1942 he was united in marriage to Ruth Elouise Gilbert. They made their home in South Whitley.
In 1943, he joined his father in the sheet metal fabrication business in South Whitley known as Bolinger Tin Shop. In addition to sheet metal work, they did furnace work, down spouting and metal roof repair. In 1956, they moved to their present location on State Street in South Whitley and expanded into Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC). In 1962, Floyd and Elouise bought the business from his parents and it is still in operation today owned by son, Preston Bolinger.
His memberships include Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, where he served as a Deacon, South Whitley Lions Club, a 50 year member of the Chain-O-Lakes Barbershop Chorus and served 17 years as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician for the Whitley County EMS.
Surviving relatives include his wife of 68 years, Elouise; four children, Preston (Sharron) Bolinger, South Whitley, Janet (Rich) Howell of Peru, Lewis (Peggy) Bolinger, South Whitley, Martha (Chris) Trier, South Whitley and a daughter-in-law, Martha Bolinger, South Whitley; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and a sister, Evelyn (Frederick) Myers, South Whitley.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel E. Bolinger and a granddaughter, Varidy Sue Bolinger.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley with Pastor Josh Armstrong of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren officiating. The burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice.

Deborah Ann Halsey, 40

Deborah Ann Halsey, 40, of Columbia City, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at her parent's home. She had been battling cancer.
She was born March 2, 1971, in Columbia City, Indiana a daughter of Lonnie and Barbara (Wade) Halsey. As the daughter of a U.S. Air Force member, her formative years were spent in Germany, California and Nebraska before returning to Indiana. She completed her GED in 1985 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Studies from IPFW.
She was formerly employed by Precision Plastics and New China Restaurant, Columbia City.
She leaves behind two daughters, Peyton Halsey and Cierra Halsey both of Columbia City; a boyfriend, James A. Jubinville, Jr; her parents, Lonnie and Barbara Halsey, Columbia City; a sister, Stephanie (Shawn) Pierce, Loon Lake; a brother Timothy Halsey, Columbia City; grandmother, Dorothy Wade, Columbia City; 3 aunts and 5 uncles.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Harold Wade, and a nephew, Michael Pierce.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.

Georgianna Karst, 95

Georgianna Karst, 95, of Columbia City, IN passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 11:15 a.m. at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
Born December 9, 1915 in Kendallville, IN she was the daughter of Clayton and Laura (Cramer) Castator.
She graduated from Huntington Schools, Huntington County. On May 8, 1937, she married Frank L. Karst. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Blue Bell and Whitley County Hospital in housekeeping as an assistant, sterilizing linens and instruments for 15 years.
Survivors include her sons, John (Marge) Karst of Indianapolis, Paul (Margaret) Karst of North Webster; daughters, Sharon (Gale L.) Fudge, Barbara (Nicholas) King, Carolyn Clack and Patricia Oliver all of Columbia City; 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank L. Karst in 1968, son, Richard Karst in 1966, brother, Harry Castator, sister, Bernice Klingaman, granddaughter, Holly King, great-granddaughter, Anna Fudge and son-in-law, James Clack.
Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2011 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.  Funeral service will immediately follow calling at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2011 at the funeral home with Pastor Jean Ness officiating. Burial following service at Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City.  Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Karst to the Activities Department of the Oaks Nursing Home.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Clarence Wayne Rosenberger, 83

Clarence Wayne Rosenberger, 83, of Jefferson Township, Whitley County, died at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Renaissance Village where he had been a resident since Monday.
He was born September 24, 1927 in Fort Wayne, Indiana a son of Clarence Z. and Ruth (Sheets) Rosenberger. As a fifth grader, his family moved to Jefferson Township from Fort Wayne. He graduated from Jefferson Center High School in 1945.
During World War II, he served in the United States Army Air Corps.
On May 18, 1947 he was united in marriage to Janice E. Sever. They moved to their present home in 1950.
He retired in 2005 from grain farming and selling eggs to many throughout Whitley County and the surrounding areas.
His memberships included Laud Christian Church, Columbia City Lodge #189 Free & Accepted Masons, Whitley County Shrine Club and Mizpah Shrine Club. Wayne served on the Laud Fire Department for five years and Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department for over 45 years.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Janice; and two children, Vicki (Ted) White of Kewanna and Van (Patricia) Rosenberger of Columbia City; and four grandsons, Jacob & Zachary Rosenberger and Seth (Marla) & Grant White.
He was preceded in death by a step sister, Betty Kiser.
The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral Home. The burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department.
