Shirley A. Dear, 75
Shirley A. Dear, 75, of Columbia City passed away at 7:49 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born on April 24, 1936 in Whitley County, the daughter of Eldrige V. and Turah M. (Leininger) Brockup. 
She attended Columbia City High School and worked at Chamberlin Products, South Whitley, Weatherhead, Ion Capacitor, Inc. and Alcoils all of Columbia City, however, she was best known as a great homemaker. She was married on January 13, 1953 in Etna Green to John Junior Dear.
She is survived by 5 children, Kevin L Dear, Columbia City, Brian J. Dear, Fort Wayne, Juni K. (Brad) Krontz, Albion, Connie S. (Ed) Sims, South Whitley and Lisa A. (Steve) Burton, Columbia City. 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and one sister, Sharon L. Vonholdt of Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Gary A. Dear and brother, Elwood Brockup.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the funeral home with Pastor Jason Tash officiating.
