Robert W. Craft Jr., 89
Robert W. Craft Jr., 89, of South Whitley, died at 3:23 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2011 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne where he was admitted on Sunday.
He was born August 27, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan a son of Robert W. and Margaret (Allen) Craft. He graduated from high school in Detroit and continued his education.
On September 14, 1942 he enlisted in the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged November 8, 1945. On March 3, 1954 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged March 2, 1958.
On April 4, 1975 he was united in marriage to Marilyn J. Collins Flower. They made their home in Las Vegas, Nevada for 35 years before moving to South Whitley seven years ago.
He retired August 18, 1989 from CenTel with 21 years of service.
His memberships include Redford, Michigan V.F.W.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Marilyn; a sister, Margaret Connor of Farmington MI; and a brother, Ralph Phelps Craft of Redmond OR.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Craft.
There will be no visitation or service. Burial will be at a later date in the Great Lakes Memorial Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
Arrangements are being completed by Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley.
