Area cross country teams find success at Tippy Valley Invite

In Saturday’s Tippecanoe Invitational, the Columbia City girls’ cross-country team finished 2nd overall with 45 points, behind Bremen who finished with 40 points. Columbia City’s girls team had a very strong individual performance from their top three runners.
The top female finisher of the race was Columbia City’s Renee Menzie, clocking a time of 19:12. Directly behind Menzie was Columbia City’s Laken Lefever sporting a time of 19:38, finishing 2nd, while Columbia City’s Samantha Engle complete the race for the Eagles in the 12th spot.The Whitko boys’ team also competed in the Tippecanoe Invite and had a tremendous finish to the day as they brought home a first place team finish. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Brain Menzie, completing the course in 16:56 and taking home the top spot.
The Columbia City cross-country teams host New Haven and Garrett on Tuesday and the Whitko cross-country teams see action next Saturday at the West Noble Invitational.
