Friday's Football Forecast

By Andrew Ferrell

Welcome back to week two of my look into the crystal ball for Friday night's contests. Sadly, last week, I went 1-2 and I hope to improve my record for this week, but it might be a little tricky with the three teams on the road and beginning conference play.

Churubusco @ Prairie Heights at 7:30 pm

Churubusco has not allowed any points in the last two weeks and Prairie Heights has only put up six points in the last two games.  I say its not much of a game for 'Busco and an easy pick for me.

'Busco 42 Prairie Heights 3

Columbia City @ Bellmont at 7pm

Now this game is much more complicated for me this week.  On paper it looks as if Bellmont will slip by the Eagles, especially after ascending to the #1 spot in class 3A football. However, the Eagles only lost to the defending state champion Braves 9-0 during last year's regular season. Columbia City needs a fourth quarter lead to pick up the victory, if not it could be another sad night for the Eagles.

Pending a fourth quarter lead... CC 21 Bellmont 17

No fourth quarter lead... CC 21 Bellmont 28

Whitko @ Southwood at 7pm

Whitko has struggled to find a running game in the last two weeks and I look for this to continue against Southwood.  However, Whitko quarterback Gabe Starkey is starting to settle into the season and the Knights lost a lot to graduation last year. Again, another tough pick and as tough as it is...

Whitko 10 Southwood 21
