Columbia City Football headed to sectional championship
By Andrew Ferrell
The Columbia City Eagles pulled off a huge win Friday night against the East Noble Knights, 17-13, to advance them to the sectional championship game next Friday. The championship game is a dual between 3-time defending sectional champs Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger and the Eagles.
Fort Wayne Dwenger holds an 11-0 record on the season and is ranked #2 in class 4A football. With the win over the Knights, the Eagles own a 4-7 record on the season and give first year head coach Randy Hudgins a 2-0 postseason record.
The sectional final appearance next week will be the first time Columbia City has been in the championship game since 2003, which is also the last time Columbia City saw a winning season.
