Night of the Monks
The Churubusco track teams competed in a three-way meet Thursday night. The girls squad toppled Lakeland 69-60, but fell to West Noble 70-59. On the boys' side of it the Eagles brought down both teams, beating Lakeland 91-41 and West Noble 77-55.
The highlight of the evening came with the Monk siblings, Heather and Kyle who broke two school records. Heather Monk broke the school record in the women's shot-put (36-3 1/4), while brother Kyle broke the record in men's 300m hurdles (41.31).
The girls' won five events in the three-way meet and the boys' brought in eight event victories.
The five first place finishes for the girls':
Payton Summers in the 100m dash (13.18), 200m dash (28.16), and long jump (14-6 1/4).

The eight first place finishes for the boys':
Kyle Monk in the 110m hurdles (16.32), 300m hurdles (41.31), and high jump (6').
Brian Trump in the 100m dash (11.39) and 200m dash (23.05).
