Regional champions!
The Columbia City girls' cross country team placed first at the Marion regional on Saturday night, giving them an automatic bid into the New Haven semi-state on Saturday.
Freshman Samantha Roush (18:33) led the way for the Eagles as she won the meet. Senior Renee Menzie (18:47) followed up with a second place finish, after winning the sectional meet on Tuesday night.
The Eagles had an eighth place finish in freshman Brooke Werstler (19:23). Columbia City topped out the top 20 places with Laken Lefever in 14th (19:32), Samantha Engle (19:33) in 15th, and Carlee Hearld (19:36) in 16th.
