The Whitley County-based traveling barbecue truck McHyser BBQ, owned by Jeff McCormick and Gene Hyser, made a major splash at the 2021 RibFest held June 17-20 at Headwaters Park in downtown Fort Wayne — and brought home the coveted People’s Choice award. The McHyser BBQ team is shown above.
For 24 years, the annual event is a very big deal in the barbecue world for those who enjoy barbecue and those who’ve become experts at their craft. This year’s event full scale and welcomed thousands offering at taste of what’s good in barbecue far and wide. Fortunately, those who tasted McHyser BBQ liked that they were tasting. When the votes were tallied, McHyser BBQ took the lead this year.
